Position Overview

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking an experienced Clinical Laboratory Technologist – Level 6 to join a hospital-based Pathology Department. This role involves performing advanced laboratory testing, overseeing daily laboratory operations, and supporting quality assurance and regulatory compliance initiatives.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in clinical laboratory diagnostics, laboratory operations, quality programs, and staff leadership, with the ability to support high-quality patient care and operational efficiency.


Schedule

  • Shift: Day Shift

  • Hours: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

  • Days: Monday – Friday

  • Weekly Hours: 35 Hours


Compensation

  • Salary: $120,000 – $140,000 per year (Depending on Experience)


Key Responsibilities

Laboratory Operations & Leadership

  • Provide operational oversight for assigned laboratory areas under laboratory leadership.

  • Monitor laboratory testing processes to ensure accurate, timely, and high-quality diagnostic results.

  • Supervise laboratory personnel and evaluate technical proficiency in testing procedures.

  • Develop and manage daily staffing schedules to ensure adequate laboratory coverage.

  • Support cross-training initiatives and staff development programs.

  • Ensure staff training, competency assessments, and performance evaluations are completed.

Quality Management & Compliance

  • Participate in the Laboratory Quality Management System to maintain regulatory compliance.

  • Ensure adherence to regulatory standards and proficiency testing requirements.

  • Monitor laboratory operations to maintain accuracy, reliability, and patient safety.

  • Maintain quality control programs and ensure timely completion of proficiency testing activities.

  • Evaluate laboratory services and diagnostic processes to ensure quality and effectiveness.

Laboratory Systems & Technology

  • Support implementation and optimization of Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) and related technologies.

  • Assist with system validation, troubleshooting, and staff training.

  • Promote integration of laboratory technology solutions to improve workflow and data management.

Administrative & Financial Responsibilities

  • Assist with purchasing requests, inventory oversight, and vendor coordination.

  • Support management of laboratory operational resources and departmental needs.

  • Ensure compliance with vendor agreements and external laboratory service requirements.

Laboratory Procedures & Program Development

  • Develop, update, and maintain laboratory procedures, quality control protocols, and preventive maintenance documentation.

  • Ensure laboratory procedure manuals remain current and accessible to staff.

  • Assist with evaluation, validation, and implementation of new laboratory instruments and supplies.

  • Review laboratory methodologies and recommend workflow improvements.

Clinical Collaboration

  • Provide technical consultation to healthcare providers regarding laboratory testing and services.

  • Collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams to support clinical decision-making and patient care.


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Advanced knowledge of clinical laboratory diagnostics and testing procedures

  • Strong understanding of laboratory regulatory standards and quality systems

  • Experience supervising laboratory personnel and operations

  • Familiarity with Laboratory Information Systems (LIS)

  • Strong leadership, analytical, and process improvement skills

  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of patient safety and diagnostic accuracy


Required Qualifications

  • Valid New York State Clinical Laboratory Technologist License (NYSED)

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Clinical Laboratory Technology from a NYSED-registered program
    OR
    Bachelor’s Degree in Biology, Chemistry, Medical Technology, or a Physical Science

  • Minimum 5 years of clinical laboratory experience


Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of supervisory or leadership experience

  • Experience overseeing laboratory operations in a hospital or clinical setting

  • Experience developing laboratory procedures and operational workflows

  • Experience analyzing laboratory quality and safety data
