Salary: $120,000 – $133,468 per year

A healthcare organization in New York is seeking an experienced Clinical Laboratory Technologist – Level V to support and supervise operations within the Clinical Chemistry Laboratory.
This role requires strong technical expertise and leadership skills to ensure high-quality laboratory testing, regulatory compliance, and efficient laboratory operations. The technologist will oversee testing personnel, maintain quality assurance standards, and ensure compliance with accreditation and regulatory guidelines.
The ideal candidate will have significant experience in clinical chemistry laboratory supervision, quality control monitoring, and laboratory compliance standards.
Supervise laboratory testing personnel and ensure adherence to performance standards
Monitor quality control programs, instrument maintenance, and laboratory quality assurance procedures
Ensure compliance with laboratory SOPs, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements
Review laboratory test results and ensure accuracy before reporting
Manage proficiency testing programs and competency assessments
Train and orient laboratory staff and maintain competency standards
Maintain proper documentation and records in accordance with CLIA standards
Monitor laboratory equipment performance and testing accuracy
Track reagent inventory, expiration dates, and laboratory supplies
Ensure proper specimen handling across pre-analytic, analytic, and post-analytic phases
Coordinate staffing schedules and support daily laboratory workflow
Assist with hiring, training, and performance evaluations of laboratory personnel
Promote a safe, collaborative, and compliant laboratory environment
Valid New York State license as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist, Cytotechnologist, or Histotechnologist issued by NYSED
Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical, Biological, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology
Minimum 4 years of experience as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist qualifying for a regulatory or accreditation supervisory role
Clinical Chemistry laboratory supervisory experience required
Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) certification from ASCP preferred
Strong knowledge of laboratory medicine, workflows, regulatory requirements, and biosafety standards
Experience with Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) and laboratory middleware applications
Strong leadership and team management skills
Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced clinical environment
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality assurance
