Job Title: CT Scan Technologist
Location: Hackensack, New Jersey
Job Type: Contract
Duration: 9 Weeks (Possible Extension)
Shift: 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM
Weekend Requirement: Every Third Weekend
Local Candidates: $2,400 – $2,800 per week
Travel Candidates: $2,800 – $3,200 per week
A healthcare facility in Hackensack, NJ is seeking a skilled CT Scan Technologist to perform advanced Computed Tomography (CT) imaging procedures and produce high-quality diagnostic images for physician interpretation.
The technologist will work closely with radiologists and healthcare providers to ensure accurate imaging, patient safety, and adherence to radiology protocols while supporting interventional and therapeutic procedures when needed.
Perform complex CT imaging procedures following established radiology protocols
Review patient clinical history and ensure all relevant information is documented in imaging systems
Prepare patients for CT scans, including positioning, shielding, and immobilization when necessary
Screen and review contrast questionnaires with patients and document in the electronic medical record
Administer contrast media as prescribed by a licensed practitioner and monitor patients for adverse reactions
Verify exam prescriptions and collaborate with radiologists and referring physicians when clarification is required
Ensure proper exam authorization and coordinate with administrative teams for insurance verification if necessary
Obtain and upload outside imaging studies into PACS for radiologist comparison
Evaluate CT images to ensure diagnostic quality and proper patient identification
Perform venipuncture and IV management in accordance with clinical guidelines
Provide clear explanations and instructions to patients regarding imaging procedures
Monitor patient condition throughout the procedure to ensure safety and comfort
Maintain imaging equipment and report technical issues as needed
Assist with departmental duties including on-call assignments, weekend coverage, and holiday shifts when required
Strong knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, and radiologic positioning techniques
Understanding of CT imaging systems, software, and hardware operations
Experience working with Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS)
Ability to perform venipuncture and contrast administration
Strong communication, patient care, and teamwork skills
Ability to maintain required Continuing Education Units (CEU) for certification
Prior CT imaging experience preferred
Experience with EPIC or other HIS/RIS systems used in radiology departments
Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program
High School Diploma or equivalent
ARRT Certification (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists)
BLS Certification through the American Heart Association
New Jersey Diagnostic Radiography License (NJ DEP)
