Pay Rate: $30 – $36 per hour (Local, based on experience)
Schedule: Monday – Friday
Shift: Day Shift | 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Weekly Hours: 32.5 Hours (6.5 Hours per Day)

Position Overview

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking a Certified Behavior Technician (CBT) to provide direct behavioral support in a school-based environment. The technician will work one-on-one with a 3rd grade student diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) who has minimal verbal communication.

The CBT will implement structured behavioral interventions, support communication and social skill development, and effectively manage high-intensity behaviors while maintaining a safe and supportive learning environment.

This role requires a professional who is comfortable working independently while collaborating with school staff and a supervising behavior analyst.


Key Responsibilities

Behavioral Support & Intervention

  • Implement individualized Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP) developed by the supervising behavior analyst

  • Provide consistent one-on-one behavioral support to the assigned student

  • Utilize evidence-based behavioral management strategies

  • Monitor and document behavioral data accurately for progress tracking

  • Support development of communication, social, and adaptive skills

Crisis Management

  • Respond effectively to high-intensity behaviors and crisis situations

  • Apply approved crisis prevention and de-escalation techniques

  • Maintain a safe learning environment for the student and classroom staff

  • Follow established incident reporting and behavioral documentation procedures

Student Support

  • Assist the student with academic, behavioral, and social tasks throughout the school day

  • Encourage independence and positive adaptive behaviors

  • Support transitions between classroom activities and school settings

  • Collaborate with teachers and special education staff to reinforce behavioral strategies

Data Collection & Reporting

  • Collect and maintain detailed behavioral data in accordance with the intervention plan

  • Communicate student progress and concerns with supervising behavior staff and school personnel

  • Assist in evaluating the effectiveness of behavioral interventions

Collaboration & Supervision

  • Work under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)

  • Attend weekly group supervision sessions (Wednesdays) during regular work hours

  • Follow all clinical, educational, and district protocols

  • Maintain consistent attendance and punctuality throughout the assignment

  • Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in a school setting

  • Ability to independently implement behavioral plans upon assignment

  • Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and ethical conduct


Required Qualifications

Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required

  • Coursework in psychology, education, or behavioral science preferred

Certification

  • Certified Behavior Technician (CBT) certification required

Experience

  • Experience working with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) required

  • Experience in behavioral crisis response and management required

  • School-based behavioral support experience preferred


Skills & Competencies

  • Strong understanding of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles

  • Ability to manage high-intensity behavioral challenges safely and effectively

  • Excellent observation and behavioral data collection skills

  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities

  • Ability to remain calm, professional, and supportive during behavioral crises

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
