EEG Technician (Contract)
Location: Edison, NJ
Duration: 42 Weeks
Shift: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Schedule: 5x8-hour shifts
Additional Requirements: Weekends and holidays as needed, on-call required
Compensation
Travel Rate: $1,477.50/week
Local Rate: $1,200/week
"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking an experienced EEG Technician to support a neurology and epilepsy monitoring program. The technician will perform a variety of electroencephalography (EEG) procedures, monitor neurological activity, and assist physicians with diagnostic testing and patient monitoring. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work with patients across multiple care settings.
Perform EEG studies and neurophysiology monitoring for inpatient and outpatient settings.
Obtain patient seizure histories and review any contraindications prior to procedures.
Educate patients and families about EEG testing and monitoring procedures.
Continuously monitor patients during procedures and report seizure activity or abnormalities to clinical staff.
Collaborate with neurologists and other providers during procedures in labs, operating rooms, and monitoring units.
Record and analyze electrophysiological data, adjust equipment settings, and identify artifacts.
Perform activation procedures and assist physicians in reviewing EEG data and reports.
Maintain and troubleshoot EEG monitoring equipment and related systems.
Participate in staff training and provide technical guidance as needed.
Ensure accurate documentation and adherence to clinical protocols and safety standards.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent required
Completion of an accredited EEG program or minimum of 2 years of EEG experience
Experience
Minimum 1 year of EEG experience in inpatient or outpatient settings
Preferred experience with EEG, Evoked Potentials, and Nerve Conduction studies
Familiarity with neurodiagnostic systems such as Natus or Nihon Kohden preferred
Certification
Registration with ABRET (EEG) in progress or eligible
Skills
Strong patient care and communication skills
Ability to work with pediatric and adult patient populations
Knowledge of EMU and ICU monitoring preferred
