The Certified Behavior Technician (CBT) works within a school-based environment to provide direct behavioral support to students with developmental and behavioral challenges. This role focuses on implementing behavior intervention strategies, supporting educational goals, and assisting students with autism and other behavioral needs in a classroom setting.
The CBT will work closely with behavioral specialists and school staff to support students who require structured behavioral interventions and crisis response support.
Implement behavior intervention plans (BIPs) designed by supervising behavioral specialists.
Provide one-on-one behavioral support to students in a classroom setting.
Support students with autism spectrum disorder and limited verbal communication.
Respond appropriately to behavioral escalations and crisis situations.
Monitor and document student progress, behavior patterns, and intervention outcomes.
Assist teachers and staff with implementing behavior management strategies in the classroom.
Maintain a safe, supportive, and structured learning environment for students.
Communicate effectively with school staff and behavioral specialists regarding student progress.
Participate in required supervision and professional development activities.
Certified Behavior Technician (CBT) Certification required.
Experience working with students with autism spectrum disorder.
Crisis response experience managing challenging behaviors.
Ability to work independently while following established behavioral plans.
Strong communication, observation, and documentation skills.
