Position Overview

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking a compassionate and attentive Personal Care Assistant (PCA) to provide dedicated one-on-one support to an elementary school student in a classroom environment. The PCA will assist with daily activities, personal care needs, and classroom participation while helping maintain a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate patience, empathy, strong communication skills, and the ability to collaborate with teachers and school staff to support the student’s academic engagement and personal development.


Key Responsibilities

Student Support

  • Provide one-on-one assistance to the assigned student throughout the school day

  • Support personal care needs such as hygiene, mobility, and daily routines as required

  • Assist the student in participating in classroom activities and learning tasks

  • Help maintain focus, engagement, and appropriate classroom behavior

Classroom Assistance

  • Collaborate with teachers and support staff to follow the student’s learning and support plan

  • Assist with classroom transitions, organization, and task completion

  • Support modified activities and instructions as directed by teaching staff

Safety & Supervision

  • Ensure the student’s safety and well-being during classroom instruction, lunch, recess, and other school activities

  • Provide close supervision and guidance to encourage positive social interactions

  • Assist the student when transitioning between classrooms or school areas

Communication & Documentation

  • Maintain regular communication with teachers and school staff regarding the student’s needs and progress

  • Follow school policies regarding confidentiality and student information

  • Document observations or incidents when required


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to work effectively with young children

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to follow teacher guidance and classroom support plans

  • Ability to maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment

  • Strong observation and organizational skills
