Job Title: Operating Room Technician (CST) – Contract

Job Type: Contract
Duration: 9 Weeks (60-Day Contract)
Pay Rate:
Local: $55 – $63 per hour (Approx. $2,062 – $2,362 weekly)
Travel: $70 per hour including stipend (Approx. $2,625 weekly)
Schedule:
Night Shift: 11:00 PM – 7:15 AM
5 Days per Week (Schedule may vary)
37.5 Hours per Week
We are seeking an experienced Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) to support surgical teams in a fast-paced operating room environment. The technician will assist surgeons and nurses during procedures by preparing sterile instruments, maintaining aseptic techniques, and ensuring the operating room is properly set up for surgeries.
Candidates with Labor & Delivery (L&D) operating room experience are highly preferred.
Prepare and maintain a sterile operating room environment following aseptic techniques
Perform surgical scrub, gowning, and gloving procedures according to protocol
Set up sterile instrument tables and surgical supplies for surgical procedures
Assist surgeons during procedures by providing instruments, sutures, sponges, and other supplies
Maintain accurate counts of sponges, needles, and instruments with the circulating nurse
Assist with patient positioning, draping, and preparation for procedures
Monitor the sterile field and maintain infection control standards
Handle and prepare surgical specimens according to policy
Assist with wound dressing and drainage system setup
Support patient transfers to and from the operating room
Clean and prepare the operating room for the next procedure
Maintain documentation related to surgical counts and procedures
Support the nursing team with operating room setup, equipment organization, and inventory
Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification
Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program
High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience working in an Operating Room environment
Labor & Delivery OR experience required
Ability to maintain strict aseptic technique during surgical procedures
Additional training in operating room technology or surgical sciences
Experience in high-volume hospital surgical departments
Strong knowledge of surgical instruments and procedures
Ability to work in high-pressure surgical environments
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Strong attention to detail and patient safety standards
Physical stamina and dexterity for assisting during procedures
