Position Details

  • Shift: Day Shift (3 × 12-hour shifts)

  • Hours: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM

  • Schedule: Every other weekend and some holidays required


Position Overview

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to support the Child and Adolescent Behavioral Health Unit. The LPN will provide direct nursing care and clinical support for patients ages 5–17 in an inpatient behavioral health setting.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with pediatric or adolescent patients and the ability to collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and the interdisciplinary care team to ensure high-quality patient care.


Key Responsibilities

Patient Care

  • Provide direct nursing care to pediatric and adolescent behavioral health patients

  • Assist physicians and registered nurses with examinations and treatments

  • Monitor and document vital signs and patient progress

  • Observe patient responses to treatment and report changes to nursing staff

Clinical Support

  • Prepare patients for examinations and procedures

  • Set up trays and supplies for injections and procedures

  • Administer injections as directed

  • Maintain clean and organized clinical areas

Documentation & Coordination

  • Document patient care activities in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR)

  • Follow established nursing care plans

  • Coordinate with physicians and healthcare team members regarding patient needs

  • Communicate effectively with patients and families

Administrative Support

  • Assist with appointment scheduling and patient reception

  • Prepare charts and patient documentation

  • Coordinate insurance authorizations and referrals when required

  • Support daily nursing unit operations


Required Qualifications

  • Active New York State LPN/LVN License

  • Minimum 1 year of nursing experience

  • CPR Certification (or ability to obtain)

  • Experience working with children and adolescents (ages 5–17)

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work independently in an acute care environment
