Job Description

Position Overview

We are seeking a Healthcare Clerical Assistant / Patient Staff Assistant to support daily administrative operations in a busy healthcare environment. The role involves providing clerical, administrative, and customer service support while interacting regularly with patients, nurses, physicians, and other healthcare staff.

Candidates must have recent experience working in a healthcare setting (within the last 6 months) and demonstrate strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills.


Schedule

Day Shift Options:

  • 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM

  • 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM

  • 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform general clerical and administrative duties including filing, data entry, and document management.

  • Provide reception support, including greeting patients and directing inquiries.

  • Schedule appointments and meetings as needed.

  • Prepare and type correspondence, reports, and documents.

  • Maintain organized records through indexing and documentation management.

  • Operate office equipment such as fax machines, computers, and photocopiers.

  • Perform data entry tasks with a minimum typing speed of 50 keystrokes per minute.

  • Maintain professional communication with patients, nurses, physicians, and administrative staff.

  • Provide excellent customer service and patient support throughout the day.

  • Assist with general office and administrative tasks as assigned.


Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of relevant clerical or administrative experience.

  • Recent healthcare experience within the last 6 months is required.

  • Intermediate-level proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service abilities.

  • Ability to interact with patients and healthcare staff throughout the workday.

  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.


Education Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.

  • Prior medical office experience and familiarity with medical terminology preferred.
