Salary: $93,000 – $120,000 annually
Additional Compensation: $15,000 Sign-On Bonus + Up to 17.5% Incentive Bonus


Position Overview

A leading healthcare organization is seeking an experienced Hospital Laboratory Director to oversee laboratory operations at a major medical center. This leadership role is responsible for driving operational excellence, regulatory compliance, staff development, and financial performance within the clinical laboratory.

The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership experience, a commitment to quality patient care, and the ability to manage complex laboratory operations in a fast-paced hospital environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and oversight for laboratory operations including staffing, hiring, training, and performance management.

  • Develop and mentor laboratory staff while promoting a culture of quality, collaboration, and accountability.

  • Establish strategies to improve laboratory quality, operational efficiency, service delivery, and patient satisfaction.

  • Monitor laboratory financial performance, prepare Monthly Operating Reviews (MORs), and address budget variances.

  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standards including CAP, CLIA, JCAHO, FDA, and CMS.

  • Oversee laboratory policies, vendor relationships, and supply management.

  • Foster strong communication across departments and implement process improvements to enhance service quality.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology, Biomedical Science, Biology, Chemistry, or related field (required).

  • Master’s degree preferred.

  • National MT certification required.

  • State laboratory license required where applicable.

  • Minimum 3+ years of progressive laboratory management experience in a complex healthcare environment.

  • Previous hospital clinical laboratory experience preferred.
