A school-based setting in Columbia, SC is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to provide full-time nursing support within a disabilities classroom.
The RN will work closely with students requiring specialized medical care and will also provide 1:1 support for a student with a tracheostomy requiring frequent suctioning.
This role requires strong clinical judgment, experience with trach care, and the ability to work independently in an educational environment.
Provide direct nursing care to students in a disabilities classroom
Deliver 1:1 care for a student with a tracheostomy
Perform frequent tracheal suctioning as required
Monitor respiratory status and respond to emergencies
Collaborate with school staff, special education teams, and caregivers
Maintain accurate health documentation
Ensure compliance with school health policies and safety protocols
Active South Carolina RN License (required)
Experience with tracheostomy care and suctioning (required)
Ability to work independently in a school setting
Strong communication and documentation skills
