Shift Options:

  • 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM

  • 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM

  • 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM


Position Overview

A healthcare facility in New York City is seeking a skilled Telemetry Monitor Technician to provide continuous cardiac monitoring in an acute care environment.

This role requires strong ECG interpretation skills, rapid recognition of life-threatening dysrhythmias, and clear communication with the clinical care team to ensure optimal patient safety and outcomes.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform continuous ECG and telemetry monitoring

  • Analyze ECG strips and accurately interpret cardiac rhythms and dysrhythmias

  • Identify abnormal or life-threatening rhythm changes and notify clinical staff immediately

  • Assist during code situations and document cardiac rhythms accurately

  • Perform 12-lead EKGs with correct electrode placement across care settings

  • Respond promptly to all monitor alarms

  • Troubleshoot telemetry and monitoring equipment

  • Communicate effectively with charge nurses, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members

  • Enter and verify patient orders within electronic systems

  • Retrieve laboratory results and report findings to nursing leadership

  • Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with regulatory standards

  • Safely operate and manage cardiac monitoring equipment


Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong ECG rhythm interpretation skills

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite

  • High attention to detail and accuracy

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced hospital environment

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Team-oriented with excellent collaboration abilities


Education Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (required)


Required Certifications

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association (AHA)

  • Completion of a Dysrhythmia Course
