Position Summary

A healthcare facility in Craig, Colorado is seeking an experienced Mammography Technologist to perform high-quality mammographic imaging procedures. This role focuses on patient safety, comfort, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance while supporting efficient workflow within the imaging department.


Key Responsibilities

Clinical Responsibilities

  • Operate mammography imaging equipment in accordance with departmental and radiologist protocols

  • Perform all mammography examinations following established clinical guidelines

  • Comply with FDA regulations and maintain accurate documentation for accreditation

  • Complete daily quality assurance checks and preventive maintenance tasks

  • Identify equipment issues and coordinate service support as needed

  • Verify exam orders, obtain informed consent, and collect required patient history

  • Accurately document procedures and supply charges in the electronic health record (EHR)

  • Apply radiation safety principles in alignment with ALARA standards

  • Educate patients on procedures and ensure comfort throughout exams


Departmental & Organizational Responsibilities

  • Assist with training and cross-training of imaging staff

  • Support additional imaging modalities (CT, MRI, DEXA) as assigned

  • Participate in continuous quality improvement and performance initiatives

  • Maintain imaging inventory and request supplies as needed

  • Ensure strict patient confidentiality and compliance with organizational policies

  • Maintain professional appearance and adherence to dress code standards


Flexibility & Additional Duties

  • Adjust schedule as needed to support overtime, holiday coverage, or on-call needs

  • Complete required ongoing education, training, and certifications

  • Provide clerical support, phone coverage, and patient transport assistance when required


Qualifications

Education & Certifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program

  • ARRT certification in Radiography (R) and Mammography (M)

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire


Experience (Preferred)

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Radiologic Technologist

  • Cross-training or experience in CT, MRI, or DEXA preferred

  • Familiarity with PACS, RIS/HIS, and electronic medical records


Additional Requirements

  • Minimum age: 18 years (21 for driving-related responsibilities, if applicable)

  • Authorization to work in the United States

  • Successful completion of background check, drug screening, and pre-employment health clearance
