We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Nurse Manager of Surgical Services to lead perioperative operations at a large acute care hospital in Ocala, Florida. This leadership role is responsible for the clinical, operational, and financial oversight of Surgical Services, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care.
The Nurse Manager will oversee perioperative nursing teams, coordinate surgical workflows, and ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards while fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and excellence.
Provide leadership and oversight for daily operations across Surgical Services, including Operating Room (OR), Pre-Op, PACU, and related perioperative areas
Supervise, mentor, coach, and evaluate nursing and support staff
Develop and manage staffing schedules to ensure appropriate coverage and productivity
Ensure compliance with state, federal, and accreditation requirements
Monitor quality metrics and lead performance improvement initiatives
Manage departmental budgets, supply utilization, and cost-control efforts
Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
Promote patient safety initiatives, infection prevention, and evidence-based practices
Support staff education, professional development, and retention strategies
Participate in strategic planning and service line growth initiatives
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Florida or compact state)
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
Master’s degree preferred
3–5 years of recent perioperative nursing experience
Minimum 2 years of leadership or management experience in Surgical Services
Strong understanding of OR workflows, regulatory standards, and quality improvement processes
Current BLS certification required (ACLS preferred)
Strong leadership and team-building skills
Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
Proven ability to manage operations in a fast-paced perioperative environment

Commitment to patient safety, staff engagement, and continuous improvement
