Job Title: Registered Nurse – LDRP

Location: Cape Coral, FL
Position Type: Travel / Contract

Shift: 12-Hour Shifts (Days or Nights)

  • Days/Eves: 11:00 AM – 11:30 PM

  • Nights available

Call Requirement: 12 hours per calendar month
Contract Length: As assigned


Unit Overview

  • OB / Maternal Level II

  • Nursery Level I

  • 24-bed LDRP unit

  • EMR System: Epic


Position Summary

The Registered Nurse – LDRP provides comprehensive nursing care to laboring, postpartum, and newborn patients. This role requires strong clinical expertise, flexibility, and the ability to function independently while collaborating with a multidisciplinary care team. Travelers are expected to integrate seamlessly and function at the same level as core staff.


Staffing Ratios

  • Labor: 1–2 : 1

  • Postpartum: 3–4 : 1


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide care across Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum settings

  • Monitor maternal and fetal status throughout labor and delivery

  • Assist with vaginal and cesarean deliveries

  • Deliver postpartum and newborn care, including patient education

  • Accurately document all care in the Epic EMR system

  • Respond to obstetric emergencies and provide newborn resuscitation as needed

  • Float as required within the facility and to affiliated campuses


Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of recent LDRP experience (Required)

  • Degree accreditation must be listed on profile OR candidate must have 5+ years of RN experience

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license

  • Required Certifications:

    • BLS

    • ACLS

    • NRP


Additional Requirements & Notes

  • Floating Required – Travelers are first to float and may float to sister campuses

  • 50-mile radius rule applies from permanent address

  • Call Required (12 hours per month)

  • Culture fit is critical; travelers are expected to perform as core staff
