Job Title: X-Ray Technician

Location: Atlanta, GA
Position Type: Contract
Shift: Weekend Coverage – 24-Hour Contract

  • Hours: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM

  • Days: Saturday & Sunday

Travel Pay Rate: $48-$53/hr


Position Summary

The X-Ray Technician performs diagnostic radiographic procedures across multiple clinical areas, including the Operating Room (OR), Emergency Department (ED), inpatient units, and portable imaging. This role requires flexibility, strong trauma experience, and the ability to work in a fast-paced acute care environment. The technologist must be willing to learn pediatric and neonatal imaging and support student education activities.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic X-ray procedures in OR, ED, inpatient, and portable settings

  • Operate radiologic and fluoroscopic imaging equipment safely and effectively

  • Evaluate images for technical quality and accuracy prior to submission

  • Ensure patient safety, proper positioning, and radiation protection standards

  • Accurately document imaging procedures in the electronic medical record

  • Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and clinical staff

  • Float between departments as assigned to support operational needs

  • Assist with clinical education by working with radiography students and completing competency check-offs

  • Maintain compliance with infection control and safety policies, including mask-fit requirements


Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of Level I trauma experience
    OR
    2–3 years of experience at a large-bed Level II trauma facility

  • Graduate of a JRCERT/ARRT-approved Radiologic Technology program

  • ARRT (R) certification required

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required

  • Ability and willingness to work with pediatric and neonatal patients

  • Comfortable working in high-acuity, fast-paced environments


Technical Environment

  • EMR Systems: EPIC, Sectra

  • Imaging Equipment: Vendor-neutral systems including major manufacturers (e.g., Philips, Carestream or equivalent)


Additional Requirements

  • Must be flexible with department assignments and floating as needed

  • Mask-fit clearance required

  • Strong communication, teamwork, and teaching skills
