Compensation

  • Salary Range:

    • Minimum: $105,000

    • Mid-Range: $115,000 (approx. 10 years of experience)

    • Maximum: $125,000 (15+ years of experience)

Position Summary

A leading acute care hospital in the Panama City, FL area is seeking an experienced Director of Cardiac Care Med/Surg to provide strategic and operational leadership for the Cardiac Medical-Surgical unit. This role is responsible for ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care while driving clinical excellence, operational efficiency, and financial stewardship.

The Director will oversee departmental performance, staffing, quality initiatives, and regulatory compliance while collaborating with executive leadership and physicians to enhance cardiac care services.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 24/7 strategic and operational oversight of the Cardiac Med/Surg department

  • Ensure delivery of high-quality, evidence-based cardiac patient care

  • Develop and manage department budgets, productivity, and financial performance

  • Lead staffing strategy, workforce planning, and professional development initiatives

  • Monitor and improve clinical quality metrics, patient safety indicators, and satisfaction scores

  • Foster strong physician partnerships and interdisciplinary collaboration

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and organizational standards

  • Implement performance improvement initiatives using data-driven decision-making

  • Mentor and develop nursing leadership within the department

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (required)

  • Master’s Degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or related field (preferred)

  • Active Florida RN license (or compact eligibility)

  • Minimum 3–5 years of progressive nursing leadership experience

  • Cardiac or Medical-Surgical leadership experience strongly preferred

  • Strong financial, operational, and quality improvement expertise
