Job Title: Medical Assistant/Phlebotomist
Location: Muncie, IN 47304
Assignment Duration: 12+ Weeks (Extension Possible)
Schedule:

  • Monday: 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM

  • Tuesday: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

  • Wednesday: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM

  • Thursday: 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM

  • Friday: 7:00 AM – 12:00 PM

    Total Hours: 37 Hours per Week

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dependable Medical Assistant for a 12+ week onsite assignment in Muncie, IN, with strong potential for extension. The ideal candidate will have experience in Occupational Health and be comfortable supporting both front and back office operations in a fast-paced clinical environment.

This role requires a team-oriented professional who can provide high-quality patient care while maintaining efficiency and strong communication with patients and staff.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and room patients in a professional and timely manner

  • Take and record vital signs accurately

  • Perform phlebotomy/venipuncture and specimen collection

  • Conduct EKGs and Point-of-Care (POC) testing

  • Administer vaccines as directed

  • Schedule patient appointments and manage calendars

  • Answer and direct phone calls appropriately

  • Maintain accurate documentation in Electronic Medical Records (EMR)

  • Provide general clinical and administrative support as needed

  • Collaborate effectively with clinical and administrative staff to ensure smooth operations

Required Experience

  • Minimum of 1 year of Medical Assistant experience (externship not included)

  • Occupational Health experience preferred

  • Strong front and back-office experience

  • Proficiency in phlebotomy and venipuncture

  • Experience performing EKGs

  • Experience with POC testing

  • Appointment scheduling experience

  • Patient rooming and vitals documentation experience

  • EMR proficiency

Certifications

  • Medical Assistant Certification strongly preferred

  • Current BLS or CPR certification required

Qualifications & Skills

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to multitask in a clinical environment

  • Solid computer skills and familiarity with EMR systems
