Position Title: Certified Medical Coder – Inpatient
Location: Bronx, NY 10461
Job Type: Contract
Duration: 9 Weeks
Schedule: Monday – Friday | 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Hours: 35 Hours per Week (5x7-Hour Shifts)
Work Arrangement: Hybrid (1–2 Weeks Onsite Training, Then Remote)
Pay Rate: $20.00/hr – $26.00/hr
"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking Certified Medical Coder – Inpatient for an exciting job in Bronx, NY.
Perform inpatient medical coding in an acute care hospital setting.
Accurately assign ICD-10-CM, ICD-9-CM, and CPT-4 codes.
Utilize EPIC and 3M/HDS coding applications.
Review medical records for completeness and accuracy.
Ensure compliance with coding regulations, payer requirements, and federal billing guidelines.
Research and resolve coding-related issues.
Collaborate with Clinical Documentation Specialists (CDS).
Maintain productivity and accuracy standards with minimal supervision.
Provide support for coder training as needed.
High School Diploma or GED.
Minimum three (3) years of professional coding experience.
Strong inpatient coding experience in an acute care setting.
Experience with inpatient and Emergency Department (ED) coding.
Proficiency with EPIC and 3M/HDS coding systems.
Strong knowledge of ICD-10 coding guidelines.
Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) certification.
RHIA or RHIT credentials accepted, as applicable.
Prior experience working with Clinical Documentation Specialists (CDS).
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Experience in both inpatient and outpatient coding.
Additional AHIMA certifications (RHIA, RHIT, CCS).
