Position Summary

The Radiologic Technologist is responsible for performing diagnostic radiographic examinations at a technical level with minimal supervision. The technologist will ensure patient safety, image quality, and compliance with radiation protection standards while supporting both clinical and administrative operations.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic radiographic examinations using appropriate positioning and immobilization techniques

  • Select proper technical factors based on individual patient needs

  • Operate radiographic equipment for various procedures

  • Perform portable x-rays in exam rooms and procedural areas as needed

  • Utilize cone and collimation devices to limit radiation exposure

  • Ensure proper patient identification and accurate film labeling

  • Process and manage radiographic images per established procedures

  • Complete patient requisitions with required documentation

  • Prepare radiopaque contrast media and assist physicians during procedures

  • Support patient mobility needs including positioning, transferring, and assisting on/off exam tables

  • Maintain an organized and clean radiology room

  • Perform administrative tasks including scheduling, patient instructions, and record maintenance

  • Deliver patient-centered care based on age, culture, communication ability, and special needs

  • Adhere to organizational and safety standards


Physical Requirements

  • Lift minimum of 5 lbs

  • Push/pull minimum of 10 lbs

  • Stand for up to 6 hours per day


Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program

  • Completion of clinical requirements and ARRT eligibility

  • Minimum 1 year of orthopedic radiology experience

  • Strong knowledge of radiographic positioning and safety


Required Certifications & Licensure

  • Active New Jersey State Radiology License

  • ARRT Certification (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists)
