The Radiologic Technologist is responsible for performing diagnostic radiographic examinations at a technical level with minimal supervision. The technologist will ensure patient safety, image quality, and compliance with radiation protection standards while supporting both clinical and administrative operations.
Perform diagnostic radiographic examinations using appropriate positioning and immobilization techniques
Select proper technical factors based on individual patient needs
Operate radiographic equipment for various procedures
Perform portable x-rays in exam rooms and procedural areas as needed
Utilize cone and collimation devices to limit radiation exposure
Ensure proper patient identification and accurate film labeling
Process and manage radiographic images per established procedures
Complete patient requisitions with required documentation
Prepare radiopaque contrast media and assist physicians during procedures
Support patient mobility needs including positioning, transferring, and assisting on/off exam tables
Maintain an organized and clean radiology room
Perform administrative tasks including scheduling, patient instructions, and record maintenance
Deliver patient-centered care based on age, culture, communication ability, and special needs
Adhere to organizational and safety standards
Lift minimum of 5 lbs
Push/pull minimum of 10 lbs
Stand for up to 6 hours per day
High School Diploma or equivalent
Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program
Completion of clinical requirements and ARRT eligibility
Minimum 1 year of orthopedic radiology experience
Strong knowledge of radiographic positioning and safety
Active New Jersey State Radiology License
ARRT Certification (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists)
