Job Title: CVOR Surgical Technologist (Locals & Travelers Accepted)
Location: Manhattan, New York (10029)
Duration: 13 Weeks
Schedule: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Compensation: $2,000 – $2,600 Weekly Gross (Based on Experience; Local & Travel Rates Differ)
A leading healthcare facility in Manhattan is seeking an experienced CVOR Surgical Technologist to join its Cardiovascular Operating Room team. This position requires a minimum of two years of experience and strong CVOR expertise. The Surgical Technologist will assist in operative procedures under the direct supervision of a Registered Professional Nurse and/or attending physician, ensuring a safe and sterile surgical environment.
Minimum 2 years of Operating Room experience (Required)
CVOR experience (Required)
Certification in Operating Room Technology (Preferred)
Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
Strong knowledge of aseptic techniques and surgical instrumentation
Physical stamina and dexterity to perform perioperative duties
Perform surgical scrub, gowning, and gloving procedures following aseptic principles.
Prepare sterile instrument tables and supplies according to surgical procedures.
Assist with patient draping and anticipate surgeon needs for instruments, sutures, and supplies.
Maintain accurate counts of sponges, needles, and instruments with the circulating nurse.
Monitor and maintain sterile field integrity at all times.
Assist with specimen handling, dressings, and drainage systems.
Prepare instruments and equipment for reprocessing and maintain OR cleanliness.
Assist the Registered Professional Nurse with circulating responsibilities.
Prepare and provide required equipment and supplies for procedures.
Position patients safely and ensure proper use of restraints and PPE.
Monitor operating room traffic and maintain aseptic environment.
Assist with patient transfer to recovery and room turnover for subsequent cases.
Assist in preparing medications or solutions under RN supervision.
Properly label medications not immediately administered.
Announce medication details (name, concentration, amount, route) audibly.
Do not dispense narcotics or controlled substances.
Assist with patient transport as directed.
Notify leadership of changes in par levels, equipment, or instrumentation.
Help maintain organized sterile storage and operating rooms.
Support updates to surgical preference cards as needed.
Exposure to diverse surgical procedures and advanced technologies.
Fast-paced CVOR setting requiring strong teamwork and attention to detail.
