A large, high-acuity acute care hospital in the Kansas City metro area is seeking an experienced Director of Women’s Services to lead a comprehensive women’s and neonatal care service line. The organization is a 340+ bed hospital, serves as a Level II Trauma Center, and is recognized as a regional destination for Women’s & Children’s Services.

Regional Maternal Fetal Health Center specializing in high-risk obstetrics
Antepartum Unit
Labor & Delivery
Level III NICU
Approximately 3,500 births annually
The hospital also operates multiple emergency departments, including a dedicated pediatric emergency department and freestanding emergency facilities in the surrounding area.
Under the direction of executive nursing leadership, the Director of Women’s Services provides strategic, clinical, and operational leadership with 24-hour accountability for assigned women’s health service lines. This role ensures the delivery of safe, high-quality, patient- and family-centered care while driving operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and staff engagement.
Provide continuous operational oversight of Women’s Services
Lead assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care delivery
Collaborate with physicians, nursing leaders, and interdisciplinary teams
Ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and quality standards
Support organizational mission, values, and strategic initiatives
Manage departmental budgets and financial performance
Optimize staffing models and resource utilization
Drive operational efficiency and performance outcomes
Maintain high standards of maternal and neonatal care
Ensure adherence to evidence-based practice standards
Monitor clinical and operational metrics and lead quality improvement initiatives
Minimum 5 years of recent (within the past year) experience as a Manager or Director of Women’s Services in a large acute care hospital
Experience in a high-acuity setting with a minimum of 3,500 annual births
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) – Required
Active RN license (state or compact license)
BCLS certification (or ability to obtain and maintain)
Demonstrated leadership, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
Specialty certification in Women’s Services
Hourly Range (based on experience):
Minimum: $48.04
Midpoint: $60.05
Maximum: $72.05
(Compensation dependent on years and depth of experience.)
