Location: Port Charlotte, FL
Shift: Full-Time Nights (Rotating Weekends)
Compensation: $32.62 – $48.93/hour (based on experience)

Position Overview

A leading healthcare organization is seeking an experienced Section Coordinator – Laboratory to support a high-volume, hospital-based rapid-response core laboratory. This full-time night shift role plays a key leadership function in overseeing stat testing, quality control, and staff coordination within a fast-paced clinical environment supporting an extensive healthcare network.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform and oversee stat laboratory procedures and testing in a rapid-response setting

  • Analyze and evaluate testing samples with accuracy and efficiency

  • Execute and monitor quality control protocols to maintain regulatory compliance

  • Assist the Laboratory Supervisor with staff training, development, and performance support

  • Support CAP compliance and adherence to laboratory regulatory standards

  • Prioritize and delegate testing assignments based on patient acuity, staff competency, and productivity targets

  • Provide operational updates and performance feedback to Laboratory Leadership

  • Promote a collaborative team environment and ensure high standards of service delivery


Qualifications

  • Associate Degree in a Science-related field (required)

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology or related field (preferred)

  • Florida Technologist Supervisory License (required)

  • ASCP or equivalent certification (preferred)

  • Minimum 3 years of Medical Technologist experience (required)

  • Strong leadership, organizational, and critical-thinking skills
