A nationally recognized 420+ bed hospital in Houston is seeking an experienced Pediatric CVOR Registered Nurse to join its growing cardiovascular surgical program.
This high-acuity facility is dedicated to advanced maternal, neonatal, and pediatric specialty services and is part of a large healthcare network serving the greater Houston region.

The Pediatric Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) Registered Nurse delivers high-quality, patient-centered care to pediatric patients undergoing cardiovascular surgical procedures.
This role requires specialized expertise in pediatric cardiac surgery and perioperative care. The RN works closely with cardiovascular surgeons, anesthesiologists, perfusionists, surgical technologists, and the perioperative team to ensure safe and effective care across the surgical continuum.
The RN advocates for pediatric patients and their families, ensuring developmentally appropriate, compassionate, and evidence-based care while supporting continuous improvement initiatives within the CVOR environment.
Evaluate pediatric patients prior to surgery
Provide patient and family education regarding procedures and perioperative care
Prepare patients for surgery, including IV therapy, medications, and surgical site verification
Participate in surgical safety protocols (briefing, time-out, debriefing, universal protocol compliance)
Recognize and respond to surgical or post-operative emergencies
Deliver high-quality, evidence-based perioperative nursing care
Monitor patient condition throughout shift and document thoroughly
Collaborate with interdisciplinary surgical team members
Support performance improvement and workflow efficiency initiatives
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
Associate Degree in Nursing required
BSN required (6-month enrollment and 24-month completion if not already obtained)
Minimum 1+ year of recent acute care experience required
Pediatric experience required
Experience caring for patients post–heart surgery required
Children’s hospital experience preferred
NICU, PICU, or Mother-Baby experience is a plus
BLS (Required)
ACLS (Within 60 days of hire)
PALS (Within 60 days of hire)

Salary Range: $38.03 – $57.05 per hour (based on years of experience)
