A healthcare organization is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner (NP) with a focus in Hematology, Oncology, and Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) to provide comprehensive, patient-centered care to adult patients with hematologic disorders, cancer diagnoses, and individuals undergoing or recovering from bone marrow or stem cell transplantation.
This role works collaboratively with physicians, nursing staff, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality oncologic care across the full continuum, including diagnosis, active treatment, survivorship, and palliative care.
Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including medical history review, physical examinations, and ongoing evaluation of treatment response
Diagnose and manage hematologic and oncologic conditions following established clinical guidelines and protocols
Develop, implement, and adjust individualized treatment plans for chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapy, and supportive care
Manage patients before, during, and after bone marrow or stem cell transplantation, including complication management and long-term follow-up
Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests, including laboratory studies, imaging, and pathology results
Prescribe medications and therapeutic interventions in compliance with state regulations and organizational policies
Monitor, identify, and manage treatment-related side effects and oncologic emergencies
Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment options, symptom management, and expected outcomes
Collaborate with physicians, pharmacists, nurses, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive care
Participate in survivorship planning, symptom management, and palliative or end-of-life care when appropriate
Maintain accurate, timely, and thorough documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR)
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adhere to evidence-based practice standards
Master’s or Doctoral degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
Current Nurse Practitioner license in the state of Colorado or eligibility for licensure
National Nurse Practitioner certification (AANP or ANCC)
Prescriptive authority and DEA registration (or eligibility)
Prior experience as an Oncology Nurse Practitioner
Strong background in Hematology/Oncology and/or Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT)
Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN®) or Advanced Oncology Certified Nurse Practitioner (AOCNP®) certification, or willingness to obtain
