About the Facility

A 285+ bed acute care hospital equipped with advanced technology and comprehensive clinical services is seeking an experienced RN Manager for its Cardiovascular Prep & Recovery areas. The facility is a Level II Trauma Center with 24/7 emergency services and an accredited Chest Pain Center. Additional services include Orthopedics (Total Joints & Sports Medicine), accredited Cancer and Breast programs, Women’s Services with a Level III NICU, Stroke Center, Surgery Center, Advanced Wound Care, Pain Management, Sleep Disorders, Imaging, and Rehabilitation. The hospital is part of a large regional healthcare network serving the Kansas City metropolitan area.

Position Summary

The RN Manager – Cardiovascular Prep & Recovery provides leadership and operational oversight for Cardiac Observation, ECHO, and Stress Testing areas. This role is responsible for clinical, financial, operational, and personnel management functions to ensure high-quality patient care and regulatory compliance.

The Manager serves as a professional role model, clinical resource, and liaison to medical staff while ensuring seamless integration of departmental services with overall hospital operations.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations of Cardiac Observation, ECHO, and Stress Testing departments

  • Ensure high-quality patient care across the cardiovascular testing continuum

  • Maintain compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards

  • Develop, implement, and evaluate departmental policies and procedures

  • Manage departmental budget and maintain fiscal responsibility

  • Lead staffing efforts including hiring, onboarding, training, competency validation, and annual evaluations

  • Oversee performance management, disciplinary actions, and terminations as needed

  • Promote a positive work environment and maintain strong team engagement

  • Serve as liaison between department staff and medical providers

  • Ensure consistent communication of departmental and organizational updates

Staffing & Department Details

  • Oversees approximately 20 FTEs

  • Focus areas: Pre/Post Cardiac Testing (ECHO & Stress Testing)

  • Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:1 during testing

  • Emphasis on strong leadership, positive attitude, and longevity in prior roles

Qualifications

Education:

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (BSN highly preferred)

Licensure & Certifications:

  • Current Missouri RN license or Compact RN license required

  • BCLS certification required

  • ACLS certification required within one year of hire

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years of leadership experience in a related area required

  • Strong background in Cardiology required

  • Critical Care experience (ICU leadership/CNC experience preferred)

  • Demonstrated employment stability and progressive leadership experience preferred
