Schedule & Shift Details

  • Shifts: Mixed 10-hour shifts

    • 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM

    • 8:00 AM – 6:30 PM

    • 9:00 AM – 7:30 PM

    • 10:00 AM – 8:30 PM

  • On-Call: Required

    • Candidates must live within 30 minutes of the facility


Compensation & Incentives

  • Hourly Pay (Based on Experience):

    • $27.72/hr – 5 years

    • $36.30/hr – 10 years

    • $39.60/hr – 15 years

  • Shift Differential: $2.50/hr after 3:00 PM

  • On-Call Pay: $4.00/hr

  • Sign-On Bonus: $15,000


Facility Overview

A 238-bed acute care hospital serving the Panama City area for more than 40 years is seeking an experienced PACU Registered Nurse to join its perioperative services team. The facility offers a wide range of advanced surgical, cardiac, women’s, and emergency services and is recognized for its commitment to high-quality, patient-centered care.


Position Summary

The PACU Registered Nurse provides immediate post-anesthesia nursing care to surgical patients in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment. This role requires strong critical-thinking skills, independent clinical judgment, and close collaboration with surgical and anesthesia teams to ensure safe recovery following procedures.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive post-operative nursing care

  • Monitor neurological, cardiac, and respiratory status

  • Manage airway support and ensure patient stability

  • Perform initial wound care and pain management

  • Identify and respond promptly to complications or adverse reactions

  • Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and interdisciplinary teams

  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation

  • Educate patients and families on post-operative care and recovery

  • Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives

  • Fulfill on-call responsibilities as scheduled


Unit & Work Environment

  • Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:2

  • Self/preferential scheduling posted 4 weeks in advance

  • Supportive leadership with a collaborative team culture

  • Staffing support from CNAs, PCTs, charge nurses, and RN float pool


Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of recent (within last year) PACU acute care RN experience

  • Critical care experience strongly preferred

  • Active Florida RN license or multistate compact license

    • Compact license holders must obtain Florida license within 60 days

  • BLS required within 30 days of hire

  • ACLS required within 60 days of hire

  • PALS required within 60 days of hire

  • RN Diploma or Associate Degree required
