Job Title: Netscout Network Consultant

Location: Brooklyn, NY 
Duration: 1 Year
Work Schedule: Hybrid – 3 days onsite / 2 days remote per week

Position Overview

Seeking a highly experienced Network Specialist to support the implementation of advanced network technologies for critical IT initiatives. The consultant will assist with architecture design, planning, and implementation of routing, switching, and deep packet inspection (DPI) solutions, including Netscout Infinistream deployments.

Scope of Services

Network – Routing, Switching, and Deep Packet Inspection

Key Responsibilities

• Assign and configure management ports and IP addresses for NetScout devices

• Configure SPAN ports for port mirroring and traffic monitoring

• Assign and configure SPAN ports to mirror required traffic flows

• Add TAP links into production paths without impacting live traffic

• Configure IP addressing and device settings for NetScout appliances

• Validate packet capture functionality on each device

• Configure monitoring thresholds and alerting parameters

Mandatory Qualifications

• Minimum 12 years of networking experience, including routing protocols

• Hands-on experience with BGP, MPLS, and OSPF in large-scale enterprise environments

• Minimum 12 years of experience in deep packet inspection (DPI) technologies

• Proven experience with rollout and implementation of Netscout Infinistream

• Ability to work a hybrid schedule (3 days onsite / 2 days remote)

Candidates without the required mandatory experience will not be considered.

Desired Skills & Experience

• Expert-level configuration of nGeniusONE, including building Service Dashboards, custom Monitors, and Alerting Profiles using ASI (Adaptive Service Intelligence) data

• Experience with MPLS, EIGRP, OSPF, iBGP, eBGP, IS-IS routing protocols

• 4+ years of experience deploying and managing SNMPv3, Syslog, NetFlow, and other management protocols

• Strong analytical and conceptual troubleshooting skills

• Advanced packet-level troubleshooting expertise

• Proficiency in deep packet inspection and decoding complex application flows (HTTP/S, SQL, DNS, VoIP/SIP)

• Experience reviewing project design and system documentation (4+ years preferred)

• Experience designing network architecture diagrams using MS Visio

• Ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams

• Familiarity with large municipal or enterprise network environments preferred
