The Nurse Supervisor is responsible for planning, developing, and implementing programs that enhance patient care quality and improve employee performance. This role oversees nursing unit operations in collaboration with nurse managers, monitors clinical performance, and supports corrective action initiatives as needed. The Nurse Supervisor also develops and maintains record-keeping systems related to medication errors and staff counseling.
Plan and develop programs to improve patient care outcomes and staff performance
Monitor and evaluate patient care delivery across assigned units
Collaborate with nurse managers to assess unit performance and operational needs
Communicate performance concerns and assist with corrective action processes
Develop and maintain documentation and record-keeping systems, including tracking of medication errors and counseling records
Ensure compliance with nursing standards, policies, and regulatory requirements
Support a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement
Minimum 7 years of nursing experience
At least 5 years in a supervisory or leadership role
Required:
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited nursing program
Preferred:
Master’s Degree in Nursing (MSN)
Required:
Active Registered Nurse (RN) License
Primary Source Verification of RN License and Registration from the New York State Department of Education (NYSED)
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
