This is a Family Birthplace/LDRP unit with integrated nursery responsibilities. The unit follows Baby-Friendly practices and provides comprehensive maternal-newborn care. Nurses are cross-trained across multiple roles within the department.
Provide direct nursing care in Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, OB Triage, and Acute Care Nursery
Circulate for OB surgical procedures
Care for GYN surgery patients as needed
Perform newborn hearing screenings
Administer medications via Omnicell medication system
Maintain safe, evidence-based practice in accordance with AWHONN standards
1:1 – Active Labor
1:2 – Cytotec Inductions
1:1 – Magnesium Sulfate Patients
1:3 – Couplet (Mother/Baby) Care
1:1 – Sick Nursery Assignments
Active RN State License
BLS
ACLS
NRP
AWHONN Intermediate
Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience
1 year of EPIC experience required
First-time travelers may be considered based on overall experience
