The organization partners with an academic medical institution and provides advanced services including Trauma, Neuro, Stroke, Heart & Vascular care, Level II NICU, and comprehensive Emergency Services.
A leading healthcare organization is seeking an experienced Nurse Manager – ICU Trauma & Neuro to provide leadership and operational oversight for a Neuro Trauma Intensive Care Unit and Central Telemetry Unit. This role is responsible for ensuring safe, high-quality, patient-centered care while driving clinical excellence, staff engagement, and operational performance.
Oversee daily unit operations, staffing, and clinical practice for ICU and telemetry services
Ensure delivery of evidence-based, high-quality care to critically ill and trauma patients
Monitor clinical outcomes, patient experience metrics, and regulatory compliance
Lead interdisciplinary collaboration and care coordination initiatives
Manage patient admissions, discharges, and throughput to optimize capacity and flow
Maintain staffing aligned with patient acuity and productivity standards
Coach, mentor, and develop nursing staff and frontline leaders
Support employee engagement, retention, and performance management initiatives
Manage departmental budgets, supplies, and cost-containment efforts
Ensure compliance with Joint Commission standards, regulatory requirements, and internal policies
1+ year of recent (within the past year) ICU leadership experience
(ICU / MICU / SICU / CVICU experience required)
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
BLS certification (within 30 days of hire)
ACLS certification (within 6 months of hire)
Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) within 6 months of hire
RN Diploma or Associate Degree (Bachelor’s degree preferred)
Strong critical care and trauma nursing leadership background
Experience managing high-acuity, high-volume ICU environments
Proven ability to lead and support large teams (approximately 55 FTEs)
Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
Prior experience in a unionized environment preferred
