Telemetry / EKG / Monitor Technician – Night Shift (Contract)

Location: Long Island City, NY 11102
Shift: Night Shift | 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
Schedule: 3 shifts per week (34.5 hours/week)
Contract Length: 9 Weeks

Compensation:

  • Local Pay: $35 – $42 per hour

    • Weekly: $1,207.50 – $1,449

  • Travel Pay: Up to $50 per hour (including stipend)


Position Overview

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking an experienced Telemetry / EKG / Monitor Technician to provide continuous cardiac monitoring and rhythm interpretation during overnight shifts. The ideal candidate will have strong dysrhythmia recognition skills, hands-on telemetry monitoring experience, and the ability to respond promptly to critical rhythm changes in a fast-paced clinical environment.


Responsibilities

  • Perform continuous ECG and telemetry monitoring with accurate cardiac rhythm interpretation

  • Identify and escalate potentially life-threatening dysrhythmias

  • Respond appropriately to telemetry alarms and initiate emergency procedures as needed

  • Document cardiac rhythms during codes and critical events

  • Perform 12-lead EKGs with accurate electrode placement

  • Troubleshoot telemetry and cardiac monitoring equipment

  • Communicate effectively with nurses, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams

  • Enter and verify patient orders; retrieve and review laboratory results

  • Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards

  • Ensure safe operation and management of monitoring equipment


Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Recent experience as a Telemetry Technician, Monitor Technician, or EKG Technician

  • Dysrhythmia Certification

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA or Red Cross)

  • Strong ECG rhythm interpretation and arrhythmia recognition skills

  • Basic computer proficiency (MS Office Suite)


Preferred Qualifications

  • EKG Certification

  • Prior hospital or acute care experience
