Compensation

  • Traveler Rate: $95/hour

  • Local Rate: $80/hour


Position Overview

A hospital-based healthcare organization is seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technician for a short-term contract assignment. This role is responsible for the daily operation of the Nuclear Medicine and PET/CT laboratory, including equipment maintenance, patient education, and the performance of diagnostic nuclear medicine and PET/CT procedures in compliance with departmental policies and regulatory standards.


Key Responsibilities

  • Operate Nuclear Medicine and PET/CT imaging equipment

  • Perform diagnostic nuclear medicine procedures following established protocols

  • Educate patients and families regarding procedures, safety, and radiation precautions

  • Perform testing, calibration, and quality control of imaging equipment

  • Adhere to radiation safety, infection control, and departmental policies

  • Accurately document procedures and patient information

  • Maintain compliance with regulatory, departmental, and union requirements

  • Collaborate with physicians and clinical staff to support high-quality patient care


Required Experience

  • Minimum 1 year of experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist (required)


Education Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree (required)

  • Bachelor’s Degree (preferred)


Certifications & Licensure

Required:

  • ARRT or NMTCB Certification in Nuclear Medicine

  • Post-secondary Certification in Computed Tomography (CT)

  • New York State Radiologic Technologist License issued by the NYS Department of Health

  • Current BCLS Certification


Additional Preferences

  • Experience with Siemens Biograph Vision PET/CT (preferred)

  • This is a union position with a fixed 60-day contract duration

  • 100% onsite assignment
