Pharmacist – Acute Inpatient (Evening Shift)

Location: Queens, NY 11373
Assignment Length: 14 Weeks
Job Type: Contract (Local or Travel)


Shift Details

  • Schedule: 5 days per week (includes every weekend)

  • Days Off: Tuesday/Wednesday or Wednesday/Thursday

  • Shift Time: 3:30 PM – 12:00 AM

  • Hours: 7.5 hours/day | 37.5 hours/week

Mandatory Training

  • Duration: 2 weeks

  • Training Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

  • Includes: EPIC (EMR) system training


Pay Rates

  • Local: $94/hour

  • Travel: $115/hour


Position Overview

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking an experienced Acute Inpatient Pharmacist for a fast-paced hospital environment in Queens, NY. This role supports multiple inpatient units, including the Emergency Department and Psychiatry, and is ideal for a pharmacist comfortable working evening shifts and independently managing inpatient pharmacy operations.


Key Responsibilities

  • Medication Management: Review, verify, prepare, and dispense medications for inpatient units, including ED and Psychiatry.

  • Clinical Collaboration: Work closely with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary care teams to ensure safe and effective medication therapy.

  • IV & Sterile Compounding: Support IV room operations and sterile medication preparation as needed.

  • Documentation: Accurately document all pharmacy activities using the electronic medical record system.

  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to hospital policies, state regulations, and pharmacy best practices.


Qualifications & Requirements

Experience

  • Required: Minimum of 1 year of pharmacist experience

  • Preferred:

    • Acute inpatient hospital experience

    • IV room and sterile compounding experience

    • Familiarity with pharmacy dispensing systems

Education

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Pharmacy

Licensure & Certifications

  • Required: Active New York State Pharmacist License

  • Primary Source Verification: Required

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of inpatient pharmacy workflows

  • Experience with EMR systems (EPIC preferred)

  • Excellent attention to detail and sound clinical judgment

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
