Position Overview

A healthcare organization is seeking an experienced Nurse Manager – Behavioral Health to oversee daily operations of an acute care Behavioral Health Nursing Unit. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring safe, compassionate, and high-quality patient care through effective staff leadership, operational oversight, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day operations of the Behavioral Health Nursing Unit

  • Provide leadership, coaching, and professional development to nursing staff

  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements

  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes and quality of care

  • Oversee staffing, scheduling, workflow, and performance management

  • Maintain a safe, therapeutic environment for behavioral health patients

  • Support crisis prevention, de-escalation, and intervention protocols

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required

  • Minimum of 2 years of leadership experience as a Nurse Manager, Supervisor, or Clinical Team Lead

  • Prior leadership experience within an Acute Care Behavioral Health Unit required

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required

  • Nonviolent Crisis Intervention certification required within 30 days of start date

Preferred Experience

  • Acute Care Behavioral Health leadership experience strongly preferred

  • Strong background in nursing administration, staff development, and patient safety
