Compensation & Incentives

  • Salary Range: $145,000 – $160,000 (based on experience)

  • Incentive Bonus: 17.5% – 26.25%

  • Relocation Assistance: Up to $15,000

  • Sign-On Bonus: Available on a case-by-case basis


Position Overview

A high-volume acute care hospital in San Antonio, TX is seeking an experienced Director of Emergency Services to provide strategic, operational, and clinical leadership for the Emergency Department. This role ensures the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care while maintaining regulatory compliance, strong financial performance, and high levels of staff engagement.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide overall leadership and oversight of Emergency Department operations, staffing, and clinical practice

  • Ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care in alignment with regulatory, accreditation, and hospital standards

  • Oversee patient throughput, flow, and capacity management to optimize emergency services delivery

  • Develop, implement, and monitor departmental policies, procedures, and performance metrics

  • Lead quality improvement initiatives and ensure compliance with trauma, chest pain, and sepsis standards

  • Manage departmental budget, labor productivity, staffing models, and operating expenses

  • Collaborate with physicians, nursing leadership, and hospital administration to support departmental goals and service line growth

  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, patient satisfaction, and employee engagement


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) – Required

  • Master’s Degree – Preferred

  • Minimum 1 year of applicable leadership experience – Required

  • 3+ years of progressive leadership experience – Preferred
