Weekly Hours: 40 hours
Pay Rate: $19–$23 per hour
Position Overview:
"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking a dedicated Special Education (SPED) Teacher Assistant to provide instructional, behavioral, and classroom support to students with disabilities under the guidance of a licensed special education teacher. The role focuses on supporting the implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and maintaining a structured, inclusive, and supportive learning environment. The Teacher Assistant will work collaboratively with teachers, staff, and related service providers to address students’ academic, behavioral, and functional needs.
Primary Responsibilities:
Assist special education teachers in delivering instruction aligned with IEP goals and lesson plans
Implement accommodations, modifications, and support strategies as outlined in student IEPs
Provide individual and small-group instructional support
Support students in both inclusive and self-contained classroom settings
Reinforce classroom routines, expectations, and behavior support plans
Assist with data collection and documentation of student progress toward IEP goals
Prepare instructional materials and learning activities
Support student engagement, communication, and social skill development
Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and related service providers
Assist with supervision during transitions, lunch, recess, and other school activities
Maintain a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment
Required Qualifications:
Education & Eligibility:
High school diploma or equivalent required
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Education, Special Education, or a related field preferred
Eligibility to serve as a Teacher Assistant or paraprofessional per district and state requirements
Skills & Experience:
Experience working with students with disabilities in a school-based setting preferred
Basic understanding of special education practices and IEP implementation
Ability to support classroom management and student behavior
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Organizational skills and ability to follow instructional plans
Flexibility, professionalism, and reliability in a school environment
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience as a SPED Teacher Assistant or paraprofessional
Experience supporting students with a variety of disabilities
Familiarity with behavior intervention plans and inclusive practices
Ability to adapt quickly to classroom routines and student needs
