Job Summary

The Senior CT Technologist is responsible for overseeing daily departmental operations while providing high-quality computed tomography imaging services. This role serves as a technical resource and work leader for CT staff, ensuring procedural competency, patient safety, and quality imaging outcomes. In addition to leadership responsibilities, the Senior CT Technologist performs all duties of a CT Technologist.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations of the CT department

  • Provide work leadership and technical guidance to imaging staff

  • Ensure staff competency in all CT procedures and protocols

  • Maintain high standards of patient care and service quality

  • Perform CT imaging procedures in accordance with established protocols

  • Support quality assurance and safety initiatives within the department

  • Collaborate with radiologists, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals

Physical Demands

  • Finger dexterity, visual acuity, hearing, and verbal communication required

  • Constant reaching above, at, and below shoulder level; repetitive arm and hand motions; frequent gripping

  • Frequent standing, walking, twisting, stooping/bending, lifting and carrying 5–30 lbs, pushing/pulling up to 30 lbs of force, prolonged static gripping

  • Occasional sitting, kneeling, squatting, walking on uneven surfaces, and stair climbing

Work Environment

  • Exposure to indoor and outdoor environmental conditions

  • Cold temperatures due to air-conditioned clinical areas

  • Noise and vibration from imaging equipment

  • Exposure to communicable diseases, body fluids, radiation, chemicals, and mechanical/electrical equipment

Minimum Qualifications

Education, Certification & Licensure

  • Active Hawaii State Radiologic Technologist license required

  • ARRT certification in Computed Tomography (CT) required

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required

Experience

  • Minimum three (3) years experience as a CT Technologist

  • Demonstrated knowledge of CT safety operations and system capabilities

  • Experience with CT quality assurance and performance improvement activities

  • Prior leadership or supervisory experience preferred
