The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for delivering patient care through the nursing process, including assessment, nursing diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The RN directs and coordinates nursing care in accordance with professional nursing standards and collaborates with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to provide high-quality, cost-effective, and efficient care. This role serves as a clinical resource when needed and incorporates age-specific considerations and cultural sensitivity when providing care. Patient population ranges from newborns to geriatric patients.
Deliver comprehensive nursing care using the nursing process
Direct and coordinate patient care in alignment with established standards of practice
Collaborate with healthcare professionals to achieve optimal patient outcomes
Serve as a clinical resource in complex or urgent situations
Apply age-specific and culturally appropriate care practices
Administer treatments and medications and interpret diagnostic tests
Provide patient, family, and caregiver education
Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
Supervise unit secretaries and Patient Care Technicians (PCTs) in collaboration with the Charge Nurse
Utilize office and medical equipment appropriate to the outpatient setting
Maintain required competencies and clinical skills
Education & Licensure
Graduate of an NLN-approved nursing program
Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse license in the State of Alaska
Current BLS certification
Experience
One (1) year of experience as a Registered Nurse preferred
