Job Summary

The Occupational Therapist provides diagnostic evaluations and therapeutic treatment to assigned patients. This role supports patients in achieving their highest level of functional independence and community participation within the limits of their capabilities.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Conducts patient evaluations and develops individualized treatment plans in accordance with departmental standards

  • Provides consultation on environmental design, adaptive equipment, patient positioning, splinting, and contracture prevention

  • Maintains timely, accurate, and compliant patient documentation

  • Designs and administers therapeutic programs to improve strength, range of motion, coordination, and functional independence

  • Instructs patients in adaptive techniques and the use of assistive devices for daily living activities

  • Provides therapy for neurological and sensorimotor integration, including visual perceptual-motor remediation

  • Treats patients with orthopedic, neurologic, cardiac, balance, and cognitive conditions

  • Educates patients and families on energy conservation, joint protection, safety strategies, and transfer techniques

  • Performs home assessments and designs home exercise or care programs

  • Administers prevocational and functional readiness programs to support return-to-work goals

  • Participates in interdisciplinary collaboration and quality improvement initiatives

  • Performs related duties as assigned

  • Completes mandatory education and training within required timeframes

  • Attends required meetings, in-services, and performance reviews

  • Demonstrates professionalism and positive representation of the organization

  • Maintains patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA and applicable regulations

Education & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy – required

  • Current or pending Washington State Occupational Therapist license – required

  • One (1) year of experience preferred; new graduates encouraged to apply
