Job Title: Ultrasound Technologist (Abdominal & OB Experience) – Diagnostic Imaging

Location - Wrangell, AS

Pay Range - $87,000 to $99000 Yearly

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Ultrasound Technologist with Abdominal (ABD) and OB/GYN experience to provide high-quality diagnostic sonography services. This role requires strong clinical judgment, adaptability, and the ability to work with patients across the full lifespan.


Compensation & Incentives

  • Sign-On Bonus: Up to $25,000 for qualified candidates

  • Relocation Assistance: Up to $10,000


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic sonographic examinations for radiologist interpretation

  • Apply professional judgment and best practices during all imaging procedures

  • Perform sonography within the department and other clinical areas as needed

  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation

  • Participate in departmental quality assurance programs

  • Transfer and position patients safely for imaging procedures

  • Rotate shifts as required

  • Assume departmental responsibility in the absence of a supervisor

  • Perform ancillary duties and maintain cleanliness of equipment and work areas

  • Function effectively in high-stress situations

  • Learn and assist with additional imaging modalities as needed

  • Perform duties in at least two ultrasound specialties (General, OB/GYN, Vascular, or Cardiac)


Ultrasound-Specific Duties

  • Perform all requested ultrasound exams for diagnostic interpretation

  • Assist with ultrasound-guided invasive procedures

  • Care for and maintain ultrasound transducers and equipment

  • Maintain procedure-related documentation and paperwork

  • Consult with referring physicians

  • Operate and maintain Trophon disinfection systems

  • Assist with accreditation efforts

  • Participate in policy and procedure development

  • Pursue continuing education to meet ARDMS and radiology requirements


Patient Population

  • Newborn through Geriatric (all age groups)


Education, Certifications & Licensure

  • Current ARDMS certification in at least one category (Required)

    • ABD, OB/GYN, RVT, or RDCS

  • BLS Certification (American Heart Association)


Experience Requirements

  • Ability to perform all diagnostic exams related to assigned ultrasound modality

  • ABD and OB/GYN experience strongly preferred


Knowledge, Skills & Advancement Levels

  • Tech I: ARDMS certified in one modality

  • Tech II: ARDMS certified in two modalities

  • Tech III: ARDMS certified in three modalities

  • Tech IV: ARDMS certified in four modalities


Travel Requirement

  • Travel may be required to support services at other regional sites
