Job Title: Special Education Teacher Assistant – Autism (Grades 3–5)
Location: Sterling, VA 20165
Contract Duration: 20 Weeks
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 7:00 AM – 2:30 PM (7.5 hours/day)
Pay Rate: $20.00 – $25.00 per hour
Estimated Weekly Pay: $750 – $937.50
"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking a dedicated and resilient Special Education Teacher Assistant to support a Grades 3–5 Autism (AUT) classroom within an elementary school setting. This is a 20-week contract role working closely with a lead special education teacher to provide academic, behavioral, and social-emotional support to students with autism spectrum disorders.
Instructional Support: Assist with implementing individualized lesson plans and academic interventions aligned with student IEPs.
Behavioral Support: Implement behavior intervention plans and provide proactive support for students exhibiting challenging behaviors.
Classroom Support: Help maintain a structured, safe, and supportive learning environment.
Student Assistance: Provide 1:1 or small-group support with daily activities, social skills development, and emotional regulation.
Collaboration: Work closely with teachers, therapists, and support staff to promote student success.
Experience: Prior experience working with children on the autism spectrum strongly preferred.
Behavioral Skills: Demonstrated ability to manage challenging behaviors with patience, consistency, and professionalism.
Communication: Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
