Job Title: Travel RN – Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)

Location: Rochester, NY (must be more than 75-mile radius from facility)
Contract Length: 13 weeks (with possibility to extend)
Shift: Nights, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM), Every Other Weekend
Pay Rate: $55 – $61 hourly

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Travel RN for the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) to provide high-quality, patient-centered care in a perioperative and step-down environment. This role requires flexibility, critical thinking, and the ability to manage multiple patient care responsibilities in a fast-paced setting.

Licensure & Certifications

  • Active New York RN license required – single state (pending licenses not accepted)

  • ACLS and BLS required

  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required

Required Skills & Experience

  • Experience in telemetry and step-down/PCU/IMC-level care

  • Cardiac monitoring and emergency response: interpretation and management of dysrhythmias; participation in Rapid Response/Code teams

  • Respiratory care: nasal cannula, oxygen administration, non-invasive airway management

  • Management of cardiac drips (no titration) and blood product administration

  • Central and peripheral line care/management

  • IV therapy and phlebotomy skills

  • Adherence to isolation precautions and infection control policies

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide safe, high-quality care for post-anesthesia and step-down patients

  • Monitor cardiac rhythms and respond appropriately to dysrhythmias or emergent situations

  • Administer oxygen therapy and support non-invasive airway management

  • Manage IV lines, cardiac drips, and blood product administration per protocol

  • Maintain accurate patient documentation and communicate effectively with the healthcare team

  • Follow all isolation precautions and safety standards
