Nights (Rotating Weekends)
The Respiratory Therapist coordinates and delivers high-quality, patient-centered respiratory care in accordance with department requirements and professional practice standards. As an integral member of the patient care team, the RRT performs diagnostic tests and therapeutic procedures, monitors patients receiving invasive and noninvasive mechanical ventilation, and assists in emergency situations.
Perform and document patient assessments, including breath sounds, airway patency, and cuff pressures
Conduct diagnostic procedures to evaluate the need for, and response to, respiratory therapy
Administer respiratory care therapies, including oxygen delivery, aerosol medication, and chest physiotherapy
Assist with the placement of artificial airways and manage mechanical ventilation
Monitor patients for therapeutic response, notifying providers and intervening as needed
Assist with transportation of ventilator-dependent patients
Respond to emergent patient situations, ensuring airway integrity and adequate ventilation during resuscitation
Flexible on experience; new graduates eligible if licensed or waiting on official license (CRT experience not accepted)
NBRC Certified and State Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
Completion of an AMA-approved 2-year respiratory care program (Associate Degree or equivalent)
BCLS certification required within 30 days of start
ACLS certification required within 6 months of start
PALS certification required within 6 months of start
NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation) certification required within 6 months of start
