The Progressive Care / Intermediate Care Unit Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high-quality, patient-centered care for moderately acute patients. Working collaboratively with medical providers and the interdisciplinary care team, the RN delivers pre-operative and post-operative nursing care while serving as a patient advocate to ensure safe, effective, and compassionate treatment.
Assess patient condition upon admission and during each shift, promptly identifying and reporting changes in status
Perform procedures and clinical functions as ordered by medical providers
Accurately and timely document all aspects of patient care in the medical record
Administer prescribed medications and monitor patient responses
Maintain working knowledge of medications, procedures, and equipment used in cardiac and medical-surgical care
Provide patient-centered care aligned with clinical standards and safety protocols
1 year of recent acute care PCU experience (within the last year)
Will consider candidates with:
Recent acute care ER RN experience, or
3 years of recent acute Med-Surg experience
Active Florida RN license or approved multistate RN compact license
Compact license holders must obtain Florida licensure within 60 days of relocation
Registered Nurse Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing required
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required within 60 days of start
Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) required within 30 days of start
