Shift: Evenings (3:00 PM – 11:00 PM)
Desired Location: Panama City, Florida (Onsite)
The Nurse Manager of Emergency Services is responsible for the day-to-day clinical and operational oversight of the Emergency Department during the assigned shift. This role manages departmental staff, supports patient care delivery, collaborates closely with medical staff, and ensures adherence to clinical, regulatory, and organizational standards. The Nurse Manager serves as a departmental resource and supports quality improvement, staff development, and operational efficiency.
Participate actively in departmental and hospital committees and ensure appropriate staff engagement.
Assess staffing and development needs; assist with implementation of staff education and training programs.
Assume administrative responsibility for departmental operations during the assigned shift in collaboration with leadership.
Develop and manage staff schedules in coordination with the Emergency Department Director.
Provide direct supervision of staff, including conflict resolution, policy compliance, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions.
Communicate effectively with department leadership regarding operational or staffing concerns.
Collaborate with preceptors to support onboarding and integration of new staff members.
Maintain strong clinical knowledge, including equipment operation and departmental policies and procedures.
Ensure timely reporting and resolution of equipment repair and maintenance issues.
Oversee completion of required quality and safety checks (e.g., crash carts, temperature logs, unit-specific indicators).
Implement active case management processes to support patient flow and care coordination.
Assist with clinical procedures as needed to support patient care delivery.
Collect and analyze data to support decision-making and performance improvement initiatives.
Identify opportunities to improve patient care, safety, and system processes using performance improvement principles.
3–5 years of recent (within the last year) acute care Emergency Department leadership experience
Associate Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma from an accredited institution (required)
Must be actively enrolled in a BSN program
Active Florida RN license or eligible compact licensure
Compact license holders must obtain active Florida licensure within 90 days of hire
Advanced Practice Nurse licensure acceptable
Basic Life Support (BLS/BCLS) certification required within 30 days of employment start date
