Shift: Mixed (Rotation between Days and PM; Weekend coverage coordinated with team)
The ICU Manager oversees daily operations and staffing of the unit, ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care. The Manager monitors and evaluates nursing practice to ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and clinical standards, holding staff accountable for quality and patient outcomes.
Operationalize evidence-based practices to enhance patient safety and quality outcomes.
Ensure adherence to clinical standards of care and regulatory compliance.
Support efforts to reduce variation in practice and improve efficiency, effectiveness, and cost.
Monitor achievement of internal/external benchmarks, accreditations, and designations.
Oversee equipment maintenance according to regulatory and accreditation standards.
Manage patient admissions and discharge processes to ensure efficient throughput and quality care.
Facilitate interdisciplinary care coordination within and across departments.
Ensure staff competency aligns with patient care needs.
Manage nursing practice and unit operations to meet patient and family needs.
Provide leadership to maintain exceptional patient experience and satisfaction.
Inspire commitment to the organization’s vision, mission, and values.
Manage staff scheduling to maintain adequate coverage and productivity.
Oversee operating expenses, including supply and equipment utilization; identify cost-saving opportunities.
Recent (within the last year) Acute Care leadership experience as a:
Charge RN (5+ years), OR
Supervisor (3+ years), OR
Manager (2+ years)
(Leadership experience must be within Critical Care; relief charge experience does not qualify)
BSN preferred (ADN accepted if currently enrolled in BSN program)
Florida RN license required
BLS and ACLS required upon hire
Facility: 336 licensed beds, Level II Trauma Center, 2 external FSEDs
ICU Beds: 42 Critical Care beds (18 in one tower, 23 in main ICU)
Department Size: ~135 staff including Managers, Clinical Nurse Coordinators, RNs, New Grad RNs, Nurse Externs, Unit Secretaries
Reporting Structure: Reports to Director of Critical Care → ACNO → CNO
Patient Population: Neuro, surgical, trauma, respiratory, and other critical care patients
Reason for Opening: Manager promotion and backfill within the team
