Position Overview

The Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) provides front-line clinical leadership for a high-acuity Ortho / Neuro / Trauma medical-surgical unit during night shifts. This role combines direct patient care with charge-level coordination, ensuring safe, efficient operations and high-quality, patient-centered outcomes.

This opportunity is ideal for experienced acute-care Med-Surg RNs who are currently functioning in a Charge Nurse capacity or are ready to step into a clinical leadership role.

Unit & Schedule Details

  • Unit Focus: Ortho / Neuro / Trauma (Medical-Surgical Acuity)

  • Patient Ratio: 6:1

  • Shift: Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)

  • Weekends: Rotating

Note: Candidates must be comfortable working in a high-acuity Med-Surg environment with a 6:1 nurse-to-patient ratio.

Compensation & Differentials

  • Hourly Pay Range: $35.65 – $47.64 (based on experience)

  • Night & Weekend Differential: $4.00/hour

  • Sign-On Bonus & Relocation Assistance: Available on a case-by-case basis

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and deliver high-quality, patient-centered care during assigned shifts

  • Serve as a clinical resource and escalation point for bedside nursing staff

  • Support admissions, discharges, and patient throughput for safe care transitions

  • Monitor nursing care delivery in alignment with clinical standards and quality metrics

  • Promote a patient-first culture, including service recovery as needed

  • Assist with staffing coordination, scheduling adjustments, and labor management

  • Support staff onboarding, coaching, and performance feedback

  • Assist with inventory management and appropriate utilization of supplies

  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to drive clinical outcomes and unit performance

Required Qualifications

  • Current acute-care Med-Surg RN experience (required)

  • Minimum 2 years of recent bedside Med-Surg RN experience
    (Non-recent experience will not be considered)

  • Preferred: Charge Nurse experience in an acute Med-Surg setting

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Missouri or compact)

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing

  • BSN preferred (not required)

  • BLS (AHA) – required within 30 days of hire

  • ACLS – required within 30 days of hire

  • Proven ability to manage high patient acuity in a fast-paced, team-based environment

  • Interest in clinical leadership and professional growth
