Position Overview

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking an experienced Laboratory Section Coordinator to support hospital-based laboratory operations in Port Charlotte, Florida. This is a hands-on leadership role for a seasoned Medical Technologist who is ready to take on operational oversight, quality leadership, and staff development responsibilities while remaining actively engaged in clinical testing.

This position plays a key role in ensuring regulatory compliance, optimizing laboratory workflows, and delivering high-quality diagnostic services in a fast-paced acute care environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform STAT and routine laboratory testing with a strong focus on accuracy and turnaround times

  • Execute and document quality control procedures in accordance with established laboratory protocols

  • Support compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards (e.g., CAP, CLIA)

  • Assist laboratory leadership with training, mentoring, and development of technical staff

  • Prioritize and delegate testing based on patient acuity, staffing competencies, and productivity standards

  • Monitor daily laboratory operations and provide feedback to leadership on performance and workflow

  • Serve as a clinical and operational resource for night shift laboratory staff

  • Lead by example, fostering teamwork, accountability, and service excellence

Required Qualifications

  • Associate Degree in Science (required)

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology or related field (preferred)

  • Active Florida Technologist Supervisory License (required)

  • ASCP or equivalent certification (strongly preferred)

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Medical Technologist in an acute care or hospital-based laboratory
